SENATE BILL NO. 3160

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF CANTON, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
THE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF A REAL-TIME CRIME CENTER 3
AND FOR TRAINING PERSONNEL TO STAFF THE CENTER FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 4
2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Canton, 9
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying costs associated with 10
the design, construction and equipping of a real-time crime center 11
and for training personnel to staff the center for the fiscal year 12
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. 13
................................................... $ 1,300,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
