SENATE BILL NO. 3164
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOWN OF MIZE, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
ITS WATER SYSTEM FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 4
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 5
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 6
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Town of Mize, Mississippi, 7
for the purpose of defraying costs associated with certain 8
infrastructure projects related to its water system for the fiscal 9
year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027............. 10
................................................... $ 1,130,000.00. 11
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of 12
Section 1 of this act, the following amounts are to be allocated 13
as follows: 14
To defray costs of improvements to water and sewer 15
infrastructure and generators...................... $ 130,000.00. 16
To defray costs of water well pump replacement............... 17
................................................... $ 1,000,000.00. 18

ST: General Fund; FY2027 appropriation to the
Town of Mize for improvements to its water
system.
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
