SENATE BILL NO. 3172

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 1
FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH GRANTS TO 2
SCHOOL DISTRICTS, PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS AND NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR 3
THE PROVISION OF TELETHERAPY SERVICES TO STUDENTS IN GRADES 5 4
THROUGH 12 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Education 9
for the purpose of defraying costs associated with grants to 10
school districts, public charter schools and nonpublic schools for 11
the provision of teletherapy services to students in Grades 5 12
through 12 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending 13
June 30, 2027...................................... $ 2,400,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 15
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 16
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 17
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 18

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 19
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 20
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 21
and after July 1, 2026. 22
