SENATE BILL NO. 3230

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF GREENWOOD 1
LEFLORE HOSPITAL, A PUBLIC COMMUNITY HOSPITAL, TO PETITION FOR 2
RELIEF FROM DEBTS AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE HOSPITAL UNDER 3
CHAPTER 9 OF TITLE 11, UNITED STATES CODE; AND FOR RELATED 4
PURPOSES. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The Board of Commissioners of Greenwood Leflore 7
Hospital, a public community hospital located in Leflore County, 8
Mississippi, and created by the Board of Supervisors of Leflore 9
County, Mississippi, and the City of Greenwood, Mississippi, by 10
virtue of the authority granted under Chapter 13 , Title 41, 11
Mississippi Code of 1972, is authorized, in its discretion, to 12
petition for relief from debts and financial obligations of the 13
hospital under Chapter 9 of Title 11, United States Code, and to 14
take any actions that the board of commissioners determines may be 15
necessary for such purposes. 16
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 17
and after its passage. 18
