SENATE BILL NO. 3236

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF INDIANOLA FOR 1
THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF 2
A PUBLIC SAFETY MUNICIPAL COMPLEX TO HOUSE THE CITY'S FIRE 3
STATION, POLICE DEPARTMENT AND MUNICIPAL COURT AT THE INTERSECTION 4
OF STATE HIGHWAY 82 AND STATE HIGHWAY 49 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 6
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 7
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 8
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Indianola for the 9
purpose of defraying costs associated with the construction of a 10
public safety municipal complex to house the city's fire station, 11
police department and municipal court at the intersection of State 12
Highway 82 and State Highway 49 for the fiscal year beginning July 13
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. $ 2,000,000.00. 14
SECTION 2. It is the intent of the Legislature for the City 15
of Indianola to draw down federal funds with the funds 16
appropriated in Section 1 of this act. 17
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 18
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 19

not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 20
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 21
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 22
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 23
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 24
and after July 1, 2026. 25
