SENATE BILL NO. 3343

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF WATER VALLEY, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
UPGRADES AND REPAIRS TO ITS CITY ELECTRIC SYSTEM CAUSED BY THE 3
RECENT WINTER STORM, FOR NECESSARY REPAIRS TO ITS CITY LIBRARY, 4
AND FOR NECESSARY UPGRADES TO ITS WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM FOR THE 5
FISCAL YEAR 2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Water Valley, 10
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying costs associated with 11
certain infrastructure projects for the fiscal year beginning July 12
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. $ 3,275,000.00. 13
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of 14
Section 1 of this act, the following amounts are to be allocated 15
as follows: 16
To defray costs of upgrades and repairs to its city electric 17
system caused by the recent winter storm............ $ 2,500,00.00. 18
To defray costs of necessary repairs to its city library..... 19
.................................................... $ 275,000.00. 20

To defray costs of necessary upgrades to its water and sewer 21
system.............................................. $ 500,000.00. 22
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 23
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 24
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 25
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 26
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 27
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 28
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 29
and after July 1, 2026. 30
