SENATE BILL NO. 3344

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOWN OF OAKLAND, 1
MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH 2
THE PURCHASE OF A NEW FIRE TRUCK AND WITH REPAIRING AND REPAVING 3
ITS TOWN STREETS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 5
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 6
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 7
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Town of Oakland, 8
Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying costs associated with 9
certain infrastructure projects for the fiscal year beginning July 10
1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................... $ 750,000.00. 11
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under the provisions of 12
Section 1 of this act, the following amounts are to be allocated 13
as follows: 14
To defray costs of the purchase of a new fire truck.......... 15
..................................................... $ 550,000.00. 16
To defray costs of repairing and repaving its town streets... 17
..................................................... $ 200,000.00. 18

ST: General Fund; FY2027 appropriation to the
Town of Oakland for the purchase of a new fire
truck and repairing & repaving its streets.
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 19
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 20
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 21
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 22
her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 23
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 24
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from 25
and after July 1, 2026. 26
