SENATE BILL NO. 3353
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PEARL RIVER COUNTY IN 1
CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY OF POPLARVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE 2
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 3
NEW FIRE STATION TO SUPPORT PEARL RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND TO 4
IMPROVE THE CITY'S FIRE RATING FOR THAT AREA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 5
2027. 6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 7
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be 8
necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General 9
Fund not otherwise appropriated, to Pearl River County in 10
conjunction with the City of Poplarville, Mississippi, for the 11
purpose of defraying costs associated with the construction of a 12
new fire station to support Pearl River Community College and to 13
improve the city's fire rating for that area for the fiscal year 14
beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.................. 15
................................................... $ 1,000,000.00. 16
SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid 17
by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund 18
not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State 19
Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or 20

her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, 21
officer or officers in the manner provided by law. 22
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from 23
and after July 1, 2026. 24
