SENATE BILL NO. 3396

AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO LAWRENCE DANIELS 1
OF LOWNDES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and 4
completely restored to Lawrence Daniels of Lowndes County, 5
Mississippi, who was disqualified on March 28, 2002, as an elector 6
as a result of his conviction for the crime of grand larceny in 7
Jefferson Davis Circuit Court. He was sentenced to five (5) years 8
probation in the custody of the Mississippi Department of 9
Corrections. He violated the terms of his probation and was 10
sentenced to serve five (5) years in the custody of the 11
Mississippi Department of Corrections on July 8, 2004. He was 12
released to earned release supervision on September 21, 2007. 13
He was discharged on May 13, 2008, due to the expiration of 14
his sentence. He completed all terms and conditions of his 15
sentence. The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted 16
himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and 17
lawful manner. 18

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 19
and after July 1, 2026. 20
