SENATE BILL NO. 3402
AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO CORDERRO MARTIN OF 1
HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: 3
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and 4
completely restored to Corderro Martin of Harrison County, 5
Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his 6
conviction for the crime of felony shoplifting on June 19, 2014, 7
in Harrison County, Mississippi. He was sentenced to serve a term 8
of ten (10) years in the custody of the Department of Corrections, 9
including attendance and successful completion of the "'Long Term' 10
Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program." On June 30, 2016, 11
Martin was convicted of conspiracy to introduce a controlled 12
substance in Greene County, Mississippi. He was sentenced to 13
serve five (5) years with three (3) years and three hundred 14
sixty-four (364) days suspended in the custody of the Mississippi 15
Department of Corrections. 16
On August 31, 2016, he was paroled. On September 8, 2020, he 17
was discharged from the custody of the Mississippi Department of 18

Corrections. He has completed all terms and conditions of his 19
sentence. 20
The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted 21
himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and 22
lawful manner. 23
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from 24
and after July 1, 2026. 25
