SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 538
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. 1
GABRIEL POSADAS FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT 2
THE GEORGE COUNTY CENTER OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY 3
COLLEGE. 4
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, 5
has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the George County 6
Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition 7
of his distinguished service to the college; and 8
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association 9
of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors, 10
and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations 11
submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of 12
his or her teaching excellence, college service, community service 13
and professional development; and 14
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a Biology Instructor, has been 15
employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past 16
four years; and 17
WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Dr. Gabriel 18
Posadas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, a 19

ST: Commend Dr. Gabriel Posadas as "Instructor
of the Year" at the George County Center of
MGCCC.
Master of Biological Sciences degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in 20
Instructional Systems and Workforce Development from Mississippi 21
State University; and 22
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas has worked as a masters and 23
doctoral graduate teaching assistant for Mississippi State 24
University, a graduate research assistant for the National 25
Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center and an adjunct 26
instructor for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prior to 27
his career as a Biology Instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast 28
Community College; and 29
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend 30
such an outstanding teacher as Dr. Posadas, who has dedicated his 31
career to teaching the students of the State of Mississippi: 32
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 33
MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That 34
we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Gabriel Posadas for 35
being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the George County 36
Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to 37
him our most sincere wishes for success in all his future 38
endeavors. 39
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 40
Dr. Gabriel Posadas, forwarded to the President of Mississippi 41
Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol 42
Press Corps. 43
