SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE TERRY HIGH 1
SCHOOL BULLDOGS BOYS CLASS 6A TRACK AND FIELD TEAM AND HEAD COACH 2
RONDELL COLEMAN FOR WINNING THE 2025 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, ITS FIRST 3
STATE TITLE IN TRACK AND FIELD. 4
WHEREAS, on May 4, 2025, the Terry High School Bulldogs Boys 5
Class 6A Track and Field Team led by Head Coach Rondell Coleman 6
won the 2025 Boys Class 6A Track and Field State Championship with 7
an overall mark of 89. It was Terry High's first state title in 8
Track and Field; and 9
WHEREAS, individual honors in the State Championship meet 10
included: Boys 200 Meter Dash 6A, Jaydon Brown, Jacobie Carson, 11
Antwione Harper, Adarius Hodge, Elgin Kelly, Keegan Evans; 12
Overall, Terry High School, 42.74; Boys 4x200 Meter Relay 6A; 13
Terry High School, 1:29.78; Terry High School, 3:31.00; Boys High 14
Jump 6A, Keiston Glasper, Micah Powell; Boys Long Jump 6A, Micah 15
Powell; Boys Shot Put 6A, Rion Huddleston; Boys Discus Throw 6A, 16
Rion Huddleston; Men, 6A Team Rankings, 18 Events Scored: Terry 17
High School, 89; and 18

WHEREAS, on October 9, 2025, Terry High School hosted a ring 19
ceremony to celebrate its Track and Field 6A State Championship 20
Team, honoring the athletes, coaches, and supporters who made 21
history for the Bulldogs. The title marked a milestone for the 22
program, capping a season defined by hard work, perseverance, and 23
determination; and 24
WHEREAS, the event was made possible through the generosity 25
of sponsor Elroy Winding, whose support ensured a fitting tribute 26
to the championship team. Gratitude was also extended to Booster 27
Club President Antoine Bourne and Idale Fleming for their 28
leadership and commitment throughout the season. Principal 29
Matthew Scott received special recognition for his encouragement. 30
His words, "I am not calling you out, but I am calling you up," 31
became a guiding mantra for the athletes during their championship 32
run. The program expressed appreciation to Senator David Blount; 33
the Hinds County School Board of Trustees, including Dr. Linda 34
Laws, Dr. Carolyn Samuel, and Mary Killingsworth; and 35
Superintendent Dr. Mitchell Shears for their support. Local 36
leaders Alderman Chris Carson of Byram's Ward 6 and Alderwoman 37
Shimacha Gibson-Williams of Terry were also recognized for their 38
encouragement and presence. Athletic Director Tony Tadlock was 39
applauded for his commitment to excellence across the district and 40
for setting high standards for student-athletes. Head Coach 41
Rondell Coleman received the highest honor for his vision and 42

leadership in guiding Terry High to its first state title in Track 43
and Field; and 44
WHEREAS, as the athletes received their championship rings, 45
the moment stood as a symbol of teamwork, perseverance, and 46
community pride. It will remain a lasting reminder of Bulldog 47
excellence; and 48
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these 49
student-athletes who have brought honor to their school, their 50
community and to the State of Mississippi: 51
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 52
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Terry 53
High School Bulldogs Boys Class 6A Track and Field Team and Head 54
Coach Rondell Coleman for winning the 2025 State Championship, its 55
first state title in Track and Field, and extend to the team, 56
coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future success. 57
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 58
Coach Rondell Coleman for the team, forwarded to Principal Matthew 59
Scott and Athletic Director Tony Tadlock and the Hinds County 60
Board of Education and made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 61
