SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NORTHWEST 1
MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE RANGERS FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH 2
BENJY PARKER ON THEIR SUCCESSFUL 2025 SEASON AND VICTORY IN THE 3
MISSISSIPPI ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES CONFERENCE (MACCC) 4
CHAMPIONSHIP. 5
WHEREAS, the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers 6
Football Team, a powerhouse program under the leadership of Head 7
Coach Benjy Parker, repeated history in 2025 with its continued 8
demonstration of exceptional skill, teamwork and determination 9
throughout their incredible season, bestowing a heightened level 10
of distinction the college, its student-athletes and the 11
communities it serves across North Mississippi; and 12
WHEREAS, the Rangers finished the season with an impressive 13
10-2 overall record, securing their 13th Mississippi Association 14
of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) championship title and 15
the team's second consecutive championship and fourth state title 16
in the past six seasons; and 17
WHEREAS, Northwest finished the season ranked among the top 18
teams in the final National Junior College Athletic Association 19

(NJCAA) Division I Football Poll, marking the tenth time in the 20
last 11 seasons that the Rangers have finished with a national 21
ranking; and 22
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Head Coach Benjy Parker, the 23
Rangers earned a share of the MACCC North Division title, advanced 24
through Region 23 post-season play, and secured a berth in the 25
NJCAA Division I National Semifinals, before earning a hard-fought 26
bid to the NJCAA Division I Football Playoffs for the fourth time 27
in the last five seasons, showcasing the team's continued 28
excellence on a national level; and 29
WHEREAS, Coach Parker was named Region 23 Coach of the Year, 30
further solidifying his place as one of the most successful 31
coaches in Northwest history while guiding the Rangers football 32
program both on and off the field; and 33
WHEREAS, the Rangers distinguished themselves as one of the 34
premier defensive teams in the nation, leading the NJCAA in 35
rushing defense, recording multiple shutouts during the season, 36
and consistently demonstrating discipline, toughness and teamwork; 37
and 38
WHEREAS, numerous members of the Rangers football program 39
earned conference, regional and national honors throughout the 40
season, further highlighting the program's commitment to athletic 41
excellence and student achievement; and 42
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Northwest Mississippi 43
Community College Rangers football team exemplify the mission of 44

ST: Commend Northwest Mississippi Community
College Rangers Football Team for winning the
2025 MACCC Championship.
Mississippi's community colleges by promoting academic success, 45
leadership development, sportsmanship and pride in public higher 46
education; and 47
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and honor 48
the achievements of these student-athletes, who have brought honor 49
to their college, community and the entire State of Mississippi: 50
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 51
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 52
Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers Football Team and 53
Head Coach Benjy Parker for their outstanding performance during 54
the 2025 season, including their MACCC Championship victory, and 55
extend sincere wishes to the team members and coaches for 56
continued success in all their future endeavors. 57
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 58
Head Coach Benjy Parker on behalf of the Northwest Mississippi 59
Community College Rangers Football Team, forwarded to the Board of 60
Trustees of Northwest Mississippi Community College, and made 61
available to the Capitol Press Corps. 62
