RANKIN ACADEMY PATRIOTS BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH REID 2
WESTOVER FOR WINNING BACK-TO-BACK MAIS DIVISION III STATE 3
CHAMPIONSHIPS. 4
WHEREAS, East Rankin Academy Patriots Boys Soccer Team won 5
back-to-back MAIS Division III State Championships in February, 6
2026, defeating Madison-St. Joseph 2-1 in overtime to secure their 7
second consecutive title; and 8
WHEREAS, eighth-grader Noah Craig scored the game-winning 9
goal, following up on the school's first-ever title win in 2025; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, Reid Westover is the boys head soccer coach at East 12
Rankin Academy. He led the Patriots to their first-ever MAIS 13
Division I State Championship on February 13, 2025, with a 1-0 14
victory over Heritage Academy. Coach Westover has been recognized 15
for building the program into a state-championship-winning team; 16

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these 24
student-athletes who have brought honor to their school, their 25
community and to the State of Mississippi: 26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 27
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 28
2025-2026 East Rankin Academy Patriots Boys Soccer Team and Head 29
Coach Reid Westover for winning back-to-back MAIS Division III 30
State Championships, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and 31
sponsors our best wishes for future championships. 32
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 33
Head Coach Reid Westover and Head of School Robyn Winstead for the 34
team, forwarded to the East Rankin Academy Board of Trustees, and 35
made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 36
