A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE TISHOMINGO 1
COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL LADY BRAVES GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND HEAD 2
COACH JOHN STRICKLAND FOR WINNING THE 2026 MHSAA CLASS 4A GIRLS 3
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 4
WHEREAS, the Tishomingo County High School Lady Braves under 5
Coach John Strickland won the 2026 MHSAA Class 4A Girls Basketball 6
State Championship, defeating Louisville 64-49 on March 6, 2026, 7
at the Mississippi Coliseum. Meg Moore led the team with 20 8
points, helping secure their second state title in three years; 9
and 10
WHEREAS, this victory marks the second girls' basketball 11
state title for Tishomingo County, having previously won their 12
first under coach Brian Middleton; and 13
WHEREAS, Louisville built a 14-8 lead late in the first 14
quarter. Then Tishomingo County flipped the game. Moore scored 15
inside, Timbes got going, and Louisville's offense stalled long 16
enough for the Braves to rip off a 19-5 run that turned a 3-point 17
deficit into a 30-19 lead late in the half. The fourth quarter 18
removed the suspense. Tishomingo County kept extending the margin 19

from there, leaning on its free-throw edge and efficient 20
half-court offense. Moore finished with 20 points, Ray had 18, 21
Timbes added 14, and Reed scored 10 for Tishomingo County; and 22
WHEREAS, the Tishomingo County High School Lady Braves 23
2025-2026 Championship Basketball roster includes: Kazli Timbes, 24
Abbi Reed, Chloe Glidewell, Claire Ray, Arlei Cummings, Meg Moore, 25
Ashlyn Butler, Maddie Durham, Addy Barber, Katie Methvin, Annsley 26
Feltman, Keyorah Clemons, Madison McCollum and Chloe Crum; Head 27
Coach John Strickland, and Assistant Coaches Logan Lyles, Tannissa 28
Jeffries, Corey Glidewell, and Katie Clayton; and 29
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these 30
student-athletes who have brought honor to their school, their 31
community and to the State of Mississippi: 32
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 33
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 34
Tishomingo County High School Lady Braves Girls Basketball Team 35
and Head Coach John Strickland for winning the 2026 MHSAA Class 4A 36
Girls State Championship and extend to the team, coaches, parents 37
and sponsors our best wishes for future championships. 38
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this resolution be presented to 39
Coach John Strickland and Tishomingo Principal Jeff Palmer for the 40
team, forwarded to the Tishomingo County Board of Education and 41
made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 42
