A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE MAGNOLIA HEIGHTS SCHOOL CHIEFS 1
BASEBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH CHRIS MCMINN FOR THEIR SEVENTH 2
CONSECUTIVE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND NO. 1 RANKING IN 2026. 3
WHEREAS, Magnolia Heights School Chiefs Baseball Team in 4
Senatobia, Mississippi, has established a premier baseball dynasty 5
in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), 6
winning seven consecutive MAIS Class 5A Championships as of May 7
2025. The Chiefs, consistently ranked as a top Mississippi team 8
under Coach Chris McMinn, have continued their winning streak in 9
2026; and 10
WHEREAS, as of March 2026, the Chiefs are ranked No. 1 in The 11
Clarion-Ledger Mississippi High School Baseball Super 25 rankings. 12
Key wins included a 15-12 victory over ranked Jackson Academy and 13
a 9-3 win against Lockport Porters; and 14
WHEREAS, key players for 2026 include Cole Prosek, 2025 MAIS 15
5A Player of the Year, and Christian Doty; and 16
WHEREAS, the team, led by Head Coach Chris McMinn, has 17
maintained a high level of success for over a decade; and 18

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this team 28
of student-athletes whose baseball dynasty has brought honor to 29

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 31
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize the Magnolia Heights High 32
School Chiefs Baseball Team and Head Coach Chris McMinn for their 33
seventh consecutive State Championship and No. 1 Ranking in 2026, 34
and extend to the team, players, coaches, parents and sponsors our 35
best wishes for future championships. 36
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 37
Head Coach Chris McMinn and Magnolia Heights School Head of School 38
Cliff Johnston for the team, forwarded to the Magnolia Heights 39
Board of Trustees, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 40
