SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 124

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. GABRIEL 1
POSADAS FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE 2
GEORGE COUNTY CENTER OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. 3
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, 4
has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the George County 5
Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition 6
of his distinguished service to the college; and 7
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association 8
of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors, 9
and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations 10
submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of 11
his or her teaching excellence, college service, community service 12
and professional development; and 13
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a Biology Instructor, has been 14
employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past 15
four years; and 16
WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Dr. Gabriel 17
Posadas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, a 18

Master of Biological Sciences degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in 19
Instructional Systems and Workforce Development from Mississippi 20
State University; and 21
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas has worked as a masters and 22
doctoral graduate teaching assistant for Mississippi State 23
University, a graduate research assistant for the National 24
Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center and an adjunct 25
instructor for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prior to 26
his career as a Biology Instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast 27
Community College; and 28
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend 29
such an outstanding teacher as Dr. Posadas, who has dedicated his 30
career to teaching the students of the State of Mississippi: 31
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 32
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. 33
Gabriel Posadas for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at 34
the George County Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community 35
College and extend to him our most sincere wishes for success in 36
all his future endeavors. 37
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 38
Dr. Gabriel Posadas, forwarded to the President of Mississippi 39
Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol 40
Press Corps. 41
