SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 126
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING DAVID HOKE OF 1
UNDERSTANDING THE WORD MINISTRIES FOR DELIVERING BIBLES TO THE 2
MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE AND FOR HIS CONTINUED DEDICATION TO 3
SPREADING THE WORD OF GOD. 4
WHEREAS, born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, David Hoke, 5
of Understanding the Word Ministries, in 2020, was led by the Holy 6
Spirit to provide a Life Application Study Bible to all who seek 7
knowledge from the Bible, or thought it was impossible to read and 8
understand the Bible; and 9
WHEREAS, Mr. Hoke has been led to customize each Bible to the 10
individual, not only their name, but also things they are 11
passionate about, and make them who they are, and what started as 12
a small task quickly became a profound call from the Messiah to 13
expand and share our gift with many more people around the world; 14
and 15
WHEREAS, during a church service in March 2024, Mr. Hoke was 16
giving a testimony about the calling, while presenting 2,000 17
Spanish Life Application Study Bibles for the Dominican Republic, 18
it caught the attention of one of his State Representatives' 19

wives, who reached out and asked if he wanted to provide a Bible 20
to every State Representative in Louisiana, and he was honored to 21
deliver them, and a light shined through the Louisiana State 22
Capitol like never before, and a month after receiving the Bibles, 23
Louisiana became the first state to vote to post The Ten 24
Commandments in every classroom across the state; and 25
WHEREAS, in May of 2024, Mr. Hoke was delivering Bibles to 26
the State Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and he received a 27
revelation to provide a Bible to every State Representative and 28
State Senator across the United States of America, as well as the 29
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of 30
State, and State Auditors. He has 30 out of the 50 states 31
delivered, and the remaining states should be delivered by the end 32
of June 2026; and 33
WHEREAS, as Mr. Hoke works toward distributing Life 34
Application Study Bibles to all State Senators and State 35
Representatives in the nation, his vision continues to grow, and 36
after reaching the organization's goal at the state level, he 37
plans to extend his efforts to the federal level, local city 38
levels, and other country leaders, ensuring that the Word of God 39
reaches even more influential leaders; and 40
WHEREAS, while focusing on this significant task, Mr. Hoke 41
remains committed to fulfilling the daily requests the 42
organization receives from individuals around the world, and to 43
date, they have provided over 30,000 Bibles to those in need in 44

ST: Commend David Hoke for delivering Bibles to
the Mississippi Legislature.
Peru, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, Russia, 45
Honduras, the Philippines, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, 46
Germany, and the United States, and are determined to continue 47
spreading the Word far and wide; and 48
WHEREAS, the organization's mission is not only to distribute 49
Life Application Study Bibles but also to help people understand 50
it, and Mr. Hoke hopes that his efforts resonate with the 51
recipients and guide them on their journeys as leaders and 52
decision-makers; and 53
WHEREAS, outside of his outstanding service with 54
Understanding the Word Ministries, Mr. Hoke has been blessed with 55
two children: Sadie, 24, and Michael, 22, who both live in 56
Lafayette, Louisiana; and 57
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this 58
exceptional individual whose dedication to his faith brings honor 59
to the State of Mississippi: 60
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 61
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend Mr. David 62
Hoke of Understanding the Word Ministries for delivering Bibles to 63
the Mississippi Legislature, and for his continued dedication to 64
spreading the Word of God, and extend best wishes for continued 65
success in all his future endeavors. 66
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 67
Mr. David Hoke and made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 68
