A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JAVARIUS SMITH OF 1
MADISON S. PALMER HIGH SCHOOL IN MARKS, MISSISSIPPI, FOR WINNING 2
BACK-TO-BACK 2A STATE MHSAA WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS. 3
WHEREAS, Javarius Smith from Madison S. Palmer High School in 4
Marks, Mississippi, has won back-to-back 2A State Championships at 5
the MHSAA Weightlifting Championship with a Monster 3-lift, 1,400 6
pound total; and 7
WHEREAS, Javarius Smith competed in the 220-pound weight 8
class at the MHSAA State Powerlifting Meet in Jackson, 9
Mississippi. He dominated the event, putting 30 pounds between 10
himself and second place; and 11
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this 12
student-athlete who has brought honor to his school, his community 13
and to the State of Mississippi: 14
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 15
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Javarius 16
