SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CHARLIE KIRK FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO 1
CONSERVATIVE GRASSROOTS ENGAGEMENT, FREE SPEECH ADVOCACY, AND 2
YOUTH CIVIC PARTICIPATION, AND RECOGNIZING THAT SEPTEMBER 10 OF 3
EACH YEAR IS "CHARLIE KIRK DAY" IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI. 4
WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi has a long-standing 5
tradition of valuing free speech, civic engagement, and the active 6
participation of its citizens in the democratic process; and 7
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk has emerged as one of the most 8
influential conservative grassroots leaders of his generation. He 9
dedicated his career to educating, engaging, and empowering young 10
Americans to participate in civic life; and 11
WHEREAS, through nationwide outreach, public speaking, and 12
organizational leadership, Charlie Kirk encouraged millions of 13
young people to think critically, engage respectfully in public 14
discourse, and exercise their constitutional rights; and 15
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk consistently advocated for free speech, 16
limited government, personal responsibility, and the foundational 17
principles upon which the United States of America was 18
established; and 19

WHEREAS, his efforts have significantly expanded youth civic 20
participation across college campuses and communities nationwide, 21
fostering a renewed interest in grassroots involvement and 22
democratic engagement; and 23
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk's work has had a lasting and 24
immeasurable impact on conservative grassroots engagement and free 25
speech advocacy, inspiring the next generation of civic leaders; 26
and 27
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the State of 28
Mississippi to recognize individuals whose work strengthens civic 29
participation, promotes constitutional principles, and encourages 30
young Americans to engage constructively in the public square: 31
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 32
MISSISSIPPI, That we hereby commend Charlie Kirk for his 33
contributions to conservative grassroots engagement, free speech 34
advocacy, and youth civic participation nationwide. 35
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That we recognize that September 10 36
of each year is designated as "Charlie Kirk Day" in the State of 37
Mississippi in recognition of his impact on civic engagement and 38
constitutional advocacy. 39
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this designation is intended to 40
honor the importance of free expression, civic involvement, and 41
the vital role of young Americans in shaping the future of our 42
state and nation. 43

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 44
transmitted to the family of Charlie Kirk, his wife Erika Kirk, 45
and to members of the Capitol Press Corps. 46
