SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE WARREN CENTRAL 1
HIGH SCHOOL VIKINGS FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH JOSH MORGAN FOR 2
WINNING THE 2025 CLASS 6A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, we join the students, faculty and fans of Warren 4
Central High School in recognizing the football team for winning 5
the 2025 Class 6A State Championship; and 6
WHEREAS, at the State Championship on December 5, 2025, in 7
Starkville, Mississippi, Warren Central used a dominant rushing 8
attack and scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to 9
defeat Hattiesburg 56–34 at Davis Wade Stadium; and 10
WHEREAS, the teams were tied 21–21 at halftime before Warren 11
Central took the lead for good early in the third quarter. Xavier 12
Jackson broke a 40-yard touchdown run at 9:17 of the third, and 13
after Hattiesburg tied the game again on a nine-yard touchdown 14
pass, the Vikings responded with a 60-yard touchdown pass from 15
Nash Morgan to Michael Hall with 47 seconds left in the quarter. 16
Warren Central extended the lead in the fourth quarter with three 17

touchdown runs of 33 and 52 yards by Morgan and a 45-yard run by 18
Jackson; and 19
WHEREAS, Warren Central finished with 487 total yards, 20
including 360 rushing yards on 34 carries. Nash Morgan ran for 21
184 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries and completed a 22
60-yard touchdown pass. Jackson Shaw added two rushing 23
touchdowns. Michael Hall had 84 receiving yards on four catches. 24
Fabian Davenport and Micah Moore led Warren Central with nine 25
tackles each; and 26

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this group 50

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 53
MISSISSIPPI, That we hereby commend and congratulate the Warren 54
Central High School Vikings Football Team and Head Coach Josh 55
Morgan for winning the 2025 Class 6A State Football Championship, 56
and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best 57
wishes for future success. 58
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 59
Head Coach Josh Morgan for the team, forwarded to Warren Central 60
Principal Drew Rainer and the Vicksburg-Warren School District 61
Board of Education, and be made available to the Capitol Press 62
Corps. 63
