A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LINKS, INCORPORATED, ON THE 1
OCCASION OF "MISSISSIPPI LINKS DAY AT THE CAPITOL 2026," HONORING 2
THE ORGANIZATION'S OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, THIS 3
STATE AND THE NATION. 4
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, is an international, 5
nonprofit corporation which was founded in 1946, and now boasts 6
more than 17,000 members in 299 chapters that are located in 41 7
states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas 8
and the United Kingdom, with an impressive seven active chapters 9
located in the State of Mississippi, the organization's Southern 10
Area; and 11
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, is one of the nation's 12
oldest, largest and most revered volunteer service organizations 13
whose members are professional women committed to enriching, 14
sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of 15
African Americans and other persons of African ancestry, and to 16
this end, the organization contributes more than one million 17
documented hours of community service annually; and 18

WHEREAS, the Southern Area of The Links, Incorporated, 19
consists of more than 4,500 members in 80 chapters, and its seven 20
Mississippi chapters are the Mississippi Delta, Mississippi Roses, 21
Golden Crest, Jackson, LeFleur's Bluff, Natchez and Gulf Coast 22
Chapters; and each works independently and collectively to improve 23
lives and communities within the State of Mississippi; and 24
WHEREAS, on February 11, 2026, the dedicated members of this 25
organization will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, for the 26
"Mississippi Links Day at the Capitol" to receive legislative 27
updates, promote advocacy and take action as part of their 28
commitment to criminal and social justice, political awareness, 29
voter empowerment, and commitment to statewide civic engagement; 30
and 31
WHEREAS, the following Links leadership is acknowledged: 32
National President, Ethel Isaacs Williams; Southern Area Director, 33
Vanessa Falls; Southern Area Legislative and Resolutions Chair, 34
Tiffany Johnson Cole; Southern Area Services to Youth Facet Chair, 35
Ebony Lumumba (Jackson Chapter); Southern Area Links Love HBCUs 36
Chair (LeFleur's Bluff Chapter); and Legislative State Planning 37
Chair, Mavis James (Jackson Chapter); and 38
WHEREAS, we commend this organization whose mission is to 39
improve the quality of life for all Mississippians: 40
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 41
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend The Links, Incorporated, on 42
the occasion of "Mississippi Links Day at the Capitol 2026," and 43
