A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SOUTH PANOLA 1
HIGH SCHOOL TIGERS JUNIOR VARSITY CHEERLEADERS FOR WINNING THEIR 2
FIRST UCA NATIONAL CHEER CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, we join the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team 4
members, coaches, faculty, parents, students and sponsors in 5
commending their hard work and impressive performances at the UCA 6
National Cheer Championship in Orlando, Florida, on February 2, 7
2026; and 8
WHEREAS, South Panola Varsity Cheerleaders competed in the 9
largest division and placed in the top 30% at the National High 10
School Game Day Championship in Orlando, Florida, on February 2, 11
2026; and 12
WHEREAS, a special congratulations is given to South Panola 13
High School Junior Varsity Cheerleaders for winning the National 14
High School Junior Varsity Game Day Championship. This is the 15
first UCA National title in school history; and 16
WHEREAS, the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team members 17
are: Maggey Austin, Mckenzie Blackburn, Lyla Kate Burkes, Alyssia 18

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these 28
student-athletes who have brought honor to their school, their 29

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 31
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the South Panola High 32
School Tigers Junior Varsity Cheerleaders for winning their first 33
UCA National Cheer Championship, and extend our best wishes to the 34
team, coaches, faculty and administration of South Panola for 35
future success. 36
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 37
the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team, forwarded to South 38
Panola Principal David Odom and the South Panola School District 39
School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 40
