SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 56

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SUMRALL HIGH 1
SCHOOL BOBCATS SOCCER TEAM AND COACH JARED LEE FOR WINNING THEIR 2
FIRST-EVER CLASS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 3
WHEREAS, the Sumrall High School Bobcats Soccer Team captured 4
its first-ever State Championship in boys soccer with a 4-0 win at 5
the 2026 Class 5A Soccer Championship on February 21, 2026; and 6
WHEREAS, senior Wyatt Jones was named as the game's MVP, 7
scoring three goals on the afternoon; and 8
WHEREAS, Head Coach Jared Lee said, "This year's team 9
understood its mission. They're special because so many people 10
knew their roles and played them to perfection. It's been a year, 11
not a year-long process, but a multiyear process of continuous 12
growth, with people buying in, giving everything they have, 13
committing to the program, and trusting that we'll get here one 14
day. Sometimes that takes time, and it has taken us time as well. 15
To finally be here and see that growth pay off for the boys, I'm 16
so happy for then. They've 100% earned it, not just this year"; 17
