SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 57
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AND 1
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP OF MBI SPECIAL AGENT MILTON WILLIAMS, JR., 2
UPON HIS RECEIPT OF THE PRESTIGIOUS NORTHERN REGION SPECIAL AGENT 3
CITATION. 4
WHEREAS, born and raised in Lambert, Mississippi, Milton 5
Williams, Jr., has dedicated his life to law enforcement service, 6
leadership, and community impact; and 7
WHEREAS, Milton is part of a historic law enforcement legacy. 8
He currently serves as the third Black Polygraph Examiner in the 9
history of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, an agency 10
established in 1938, following in the footsteps of his father, 11
Judge Milton R. Williams, Sr., who was the first Black Polygraph 12
Examiner in the department's history; and 13
WHEREAS, driven by a commitment to uplifting others, Milton 14
founded Men United, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization 15
serving Quitman, Coahoma, and Tallahatchie counties in 16
Mississippi. Through mentoring, leadership development, character 17
education, and S.T.E.A.M. programming, Men United has positively 18
impacted thousands of young people and families. The organization 19

also hosts large-scale community initiatives, including annual 20
food giveaways serving more than 3,000 families and toy giveaways 21
reaching over 12,000 children, earning broad recognition and 22
support; and 23
WHEREAS, Milton also founded Women United, an organization 24
focused on empowering young women through mentorship, education, 25
and leadership development. Together, these initiatives work to 26
strengthen communities throughout the Mississippi Delta and 27
beyond; and 28
WHEREAS, his work has garnered support from nationally 29
recognized figures, including Floyd Mayweather and Steve Harvey, 30
and he has served as a mentor at the Steve & Marjorie Harvey 31
Foundation Camp in Atlanta, Georgia; and 32
WHEREAS, before dedicating himself fully to nonprofit 33
leadership, Milton served in law enforcement with the Mississippi 34
Highway Patrol, trained and interned with the United States 35
Marshals Service, and graduated at the top of his class from the 36
Mississippi Department of Corrections Training Academy in 2006. 37
He currently serves as a Special Agent with the Mississippi Bureau 38
of Investigation, continuing a legacy of service within 39
Mississippi's criminal justice system; and 40
WHEREAS, Milton Williams, Jr., is a committed public servant, 41
nonprofit leader, and advocate for community advancement, focused 42
on creating lasting, meaningful change through leadership, 43
service, and opportunity; and 44

ST: Commend MBI Special Agent Milton Williams,
Jr., for his receipt of the Northern Region
Special Agent citation.
WHEREAS, we join the Department of Public Safety in 45
expressing our appreciation for all MBI members' commitment, 46
professionalism and service to our state, a debt which we can 47
never repay: 48
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 49
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the law enforcement service 50
and community leadership of MBI Special Agent Milton Williams, 51
Jr., upon his receipt of the prestigious Northern Region Special 52
Agent Citation and extend our best wishes to Milton and his family 53
for future success. 54
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 55
Milton Williams, Jr., forwarded to the Commissioner of Public 56
Safety and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps. 57
