SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 84
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE KOSSUTH HIGH 1
SCHOOL LADY AGGIES CHEER TEAM AND COACH BAYLEE CONNELL FOR THEIR 2
2026 UCA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND FOR 3
FIVE CONSECUTIVE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. 4
WHEREAS, the Kossuth Cheer Team coached by Baylee Connell has 5
won six Mississippi State High School Cheerleading Championships 6
in the 3A Gameday Division over the past seven years. Those 7
championship years include 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. 8
The most recent state title in 2025 marked their fifth consecutive 9
state championship; and 10
WHEREAS, in addition to state success, Kossuth Cheer recently 11
earned two national titles at the 2026 UCA National High School 12
Cheerleading Championships. The team earned titles in the Large 13
Non-Tumbling Game Day Division, as well as, the Small Non-Tumbling 14
Intermediate Traditional Division; and 15
WHEREAS, the members of the 2025-2026 Kossuth High School 16
Lady Aggies Cheerleading Team are as follows: Katie Avant, Marlee 17
Beckham, Mary Ellis Johnson, Rochelle Dodds, Aniston Joyner, Libby 18
Hammock, AnnaBelle Hatcher, Makenzie Hastings, Brookhlyn Hodum, 19

Alana Lewis, Arabella Mares, Jacey Meeks, Kyleigh Mitchell, Marli 20
Mills, Oakli Rickman, Carleigh Robinson, Katie Beth Shelton, Mana 21
Smith, Relynn Spencer, Miley Taylor, Mallory Thrasher, and Lacey 22
Waggoner; Coach Baylee Connell and Choreographer, Joseph Arkansas; 23
and 24
WHEREAS, the Lady Aggies Cheerleaders have practiced and 25
worked together for many hours in the pursuit of greatness and 26
have shown a high degree of sportsmanship while representing the 27
State of Mississippi at all levels of competition, and through 28
their superior accomplishments, these Magnolia State 29
student-athletes have brought great credit to themselves and to 30
Kossuth High School; and 31
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend 32
these outstanding student-athletes whose superb attitudes and 33
unparalleled determination to reach their championship goal 34
brought honor to Kossuth High School and to the State of 35
Mississippi: 36
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF 37
MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 38
Kossuth High School Lady Aggies Cheer Team and Coach Baylee 39
Connell for their 2026 UCA National High School Cheerleading 40
Championships and for five consecutive championships. 41
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to 42
Coach Baylee Connell, Kossuth High School Principal, Brian 43
