AN ACT
T o amend chapter 275, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to suspension of
beef fees.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 275, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 275.380, to read as follows:
275.380. 1. Notwithstanding the prov isions of section 275.352 to the contrary ,
2 fees that are collected and rem itted to the Missouri Beef Industry Council under
3 sections 275.300 to 275.370 shall be suspended until the United States Congr ess enacts a
4 law making it mandatory for the label of beef cattle or beef food prod uct of cattle to
5 bear the phrase "Pr oduct of the U.S.A." or such similar phrase that displays the
6 country of origin label for beef or beef food pro duct of cattle that is exclusively born,
7 raised, and slaughtered in the United States.
8 2. If legislation enacted by the United States Congr ess triggers the rein statement
9 of the collection and rem ittance of fees under subsection 1 of this section, and such
10 legislation is subsequently repeal ed, the collection of fees under sections 275.300 to
11 275.370 shall be suspended.
