AN ACT
T o amend chapter 204, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to reorgan ized
common sewer districts.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 204, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 204.605, to read as follows:
204.605. Any reo rganized common sewer district that is authorized to engage in
2 the construction, maintenance, and operation of water supply and distribution facilities
3 is here by authorized to acquir e, construct, impr ove or extend, maintain, and operate a
4 combined waterworks and sewerage system. Any such combined waterworks and
5 sewerage system may consist of an existing sewerage system, an existing waterworks, a
6 sewerage system to be acquired or to be constructed, or a waterworks to be acquir ed or
7 constructed, or any combination ther eof, and may include any impr ovements or
8 extensions to be acquire d or constructed either to an existing sewerage system or to an
9 existing waterworks or to both. Any such reorgan ized common sewer district desiring
10 to operate and maintain a combined waterworks and sewerage system shall adopt a
11 r esolution declaring that its waterworks, whether then existing or to be acquir ed or
12 constructed, and its sewerage system then existing or to be acquired or constructed shall
13 thenceforth be operated and maintained as a combined waterworks and sewerage
14 system and may prov ide that such combined system shall include all futur e
1 5 impr ovements or extensions, whether to the waterworks or to the sewerage system, or
16 to both. All applicable pr ovisions of this chapter shall apply to the construction,
17 operation, and maintenance of combined waterworks and sewerage system facilities,

18 including the issuance of bonds payable fr om the re venues of the combined waterworks
19 and sewerage system, in the same manner as they apply to like functions rel ating to
20 sewer tr eatment facilities.
