AN ACT
T o amend chapter 21, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the general
assembly .
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 21, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 21.489, to read as follows:
21.489. 1. The sponsor of a bill shall r emain present in the hearing room for the
2 entir ety of the public hearing on such bill.
3 2. Notwithstanding the prov isions of subsection 1 of this section, the bill sponsor
4 may leave the hearing r oom to attend to health or personal needs and shall r eturn to the
5 hearing ro om within ten minutes.
6 3. As used in this section, the term "health or personal needs" shall include
7 essential activities r equir ed to maintain an individual's physical well-being and shall not
8 include br eaks for meals or meetings.
