The general assembly, the house, or the senate may employ legislative security
5 officers of the house or senate who may carry firearms when necessary for the proper discharge
6 of their duties.
Such legislative security officers, who shall be licensed peace officers under the
7 peace officer standards and training program (POST), shall have all powers granted to law
8 enforcement officers in this state that are necessary to ensure the proper security and functioning
9 of the general assembly, including the power to apprehend and arrest persons."; and

The supervisor of alcohol and tobacco control and employees to be
5 selected and designated as peace officers by the supervisor of alcohol and tobacco control are
6 hereby declared to be peace officers of the state of Missouri, with full power and authority to
7 make arrests and searches and seizures only for violations of the provisions of this chapter
8 relating to intoxicating liquors, [and] sections 407.924 to 407.934 relating to tobacco products,
9 or when exigent circumstances that present an immediate threat of bodily harm to any person
10 exist, and to serve any process connected with the enforcement of such laws.
