AN ACT
T o amend chapter 630, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to a statewide
mobile mental health unit program.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 630, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 630.1 130, to read as follows:
630.1 130. 1. As used in this section, the following terms mean:
2 (1) "Local public health agency", a county health center board established
3 under chapter 205, a county health department, a combined city and county health
4 department or agency , a multicounty health department or agency , or any other county
5 health authority;
6 (2) "Mobile mental health unit", a vehicle that travels to various locations in
7 communities in order to pr ovide services within the vehicle to pr omote mental health
8 and public awar eness of mental health issues;
9 (3) "Progr am", the statewide mobile mental health unit pr ogram established in
10 subsection 3 of this section.
11 2. The department of mental health shall apply for grant funding fr om the
12 United States Department of Health and Human Services to establish mobile mental
13 health units thr oughout the state in cooperation with local public health agencies.
14 3. There is hereby established the "Statewide Mobile Mental Health Unit
15 Pr ogram" within the department of mental health. Upon r eceipt of any grant moneys
16 under subsection 2 of this section, the department of mental health shall implement the

17 pr ogram by cooperating with local public health agencies to establish mobile mental
18 health units in communities acro ss the state.
19 4. Each mobile mental health unit established by the pr ogram shall:
20 (1) Pr ovide information about mental illness and substance use and combat the
21 stigma associated with mental illness and substance use;
22 (2) Pr ovide information about behavioral health care services available in the
23 community and assist individuals in accessing such services;
24 (3) Assist individuals in scheduling appointments for behavioral health car e
25 services; and
26 (4) Facilitate public participation in events that pro mote pr eventive health
27 measur es.
