AN ACT
T o amend chapter 590, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to certain
investigations by the Missouri state highway patrol.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 590, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 590.1035, to read as follows:
590.1035. 1. The Missouri state highway patrol shall investigate the following:
2 (1) In a city not within a county or in a county with mor e than one million
3 inhabitants, any incident in which the use of for ce by a law enforcem ent officer against a
4 civilian r esults in death; and
5 (2) In a city not within a county or in a county with mor e than one million
6 inhabitants, any incident in which the use of for ce by a civilian against a law
7 enfor cement officer res ults in death.
8 2. The local law enfor cement agency shall rei mburse the Missouri state highway
9 patr ol for any expenses incurr ed by the patrol in investigating incidents under
10 subsection 1 of this section.
