AN ACT
T o amend chapter 441, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to rental
protections for veterans.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 441, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 441.927, to read as follows:
441.927. 1. As used in this section, "veteran" means any person who is a
2 r esident of this state who has been separated under honorable conditions fr om the
3 Armed For ces of the United States who served on active duty during peacetime or
4 wartime for at least six consecutive months, unless rel eased early as a res ult of a service-
5 connected disability or a reduction in for ce at the convenience of the government, or any
6 member of a res erve or National Guard component who has satisfactorily completed at
7 least six years of service or who was called or order ed to active duty by the Pr esident
8 and participated in any campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge or service
9 medal has been authorized.
10 2. Notwithstanding any prov ision of law , no landlord shall evict a tenant who is a
11 veteran fr om a premis es occupied by the tenant unless the pr emises is being used for
12 illegal conduct described in section 441.020.
