AN ACT
T o amend chapter 217, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to correctional
facility interactions by members of the general assembly .
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 217, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 217.267, to read as follows:
217.267. Beginning January 1, 2027, and each year ther eafter , each member of
2 the general assembly shall be r equir ed to conduct at least four qualifying department of
3 corr ections interactions per year , which shall qualify under one or both of the following
4 categories:
5 (1) In-person visits to any department of corr ections facility in this state; or
6 (2) Communication with an inmate r egarding any issue the inmate is
7 experiencing at a department of corr ections facility , which shall include res olution of
8 such issue.
