AN ACT
T o amend chapter 21, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to certain employees
of the general assembly .
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 21, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 21.153, to read as follows:
21.153. Subject to appr opriation, partisan employees of the general assembly
2 including, but not limited to, legislator assistants, policy dir ectors, and chiefs of staff
3 shall receive a pay incr ease if the employee has or obtains a degr ee from an accr edited
4 college or university . The pay incr ease shall be as follows:
5 (1) For staff with a bachelor's degree, thr ee percen t; and
6 (2) For staff with a master's or doctoral degr ee, six per cent.

8 An employee shall r eceive only the incr ease for the highest degr ee he or she holds.
