AN ACT
T o amend chapter 192, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to a dementia
services coordinator .
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 192, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 192.2155, to read as follows:
192.2155. 1. The division of senior and disability services within the department
2 of health and senior services shall establish a dementia services coordinator as a full-
3 time position.
4 2. The dementia services coordinator shall:
5 (1) Evaluate the coordination of dementia services within this state;
6 (2) Coordinate information res ourc es affecting Missourians living with dementia
7 and their car egivers. Such coordination shall include, but not be limited to:
8 (a) Using dementia-r elated data to coordinate ways to improve public health
9 outcomes and service delivery for persons with Alzheimer's disease or r elated dementia;
10 (b) Establishing and maintaining r elationships with other agencies, pro viders,
11 and organizations within the state in order to meet the needs of affected populations and
12 pr event the duplication of services;
13 (c) Supporting the pr ovision of dementia-specific staff training across all
14 r elevant state agencies, including law enforcem ent, the department of health and senior
15 services, and other organizations; and
16 (d) Recommending strategies to improv e coordination of dementia-r elated
17 services and res our ces pro vided by public and private entities;

18 (3) Str eamline all applicable state government services to incr ease efficiency and
19 impr ove the quality of car e in r esidential, home-based, and community-based settings;
20 (4) Identify any duplicated services;
21 (5) Identify grant opportunities to expand the scope of services for persons living
22 with dementia and their caregi vers and apply for the grant opportunities;
23 (6) Complete other duties rel evant to supporting policy development and
24 implementation to enhance the quality of life for persons affected by dementia and their
25 car egivers;
26 (7) Pr omote public and profession al awar eness and education of dementia and
27 access to needed services and progr ams; and
28 (8) Collect and monitor data concerning the impact of dementia in Missouri.
