AN ACT
T o amend chapter 229, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to roundabout
construction.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 229, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be
2 known as section 229.224, to read as follows:
229.224. Notwithstanding any pr ovision of law to the contrary , prior to
2 constructing a roun dabout on any federal highway or number ed state highway or state
3 r oute within any county , city , town, or village, the department of transportation shall
4 obtain the consent of the governing body of such county , city , town, or village. The
5 county , city , town, or village shall rep ort to the department its decision on a req uest
6 within thirty days of the department's r equest for consent to begin work on a pr oject.
7 For purposes of this section, "ro undabout" means a road junction at which traffic
8 moves in one dir ection ar ound a central island to re ach one of the r oads converging in it.
