WHEREAS, the General Assembly has a tradition of granting the use of the House of
2 Representatives and Senate Chambers for mock legislative workshops conducted by
3 educational institutions; and

5 WHEREAS, the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives will be providing an
6 educational experience in state government for youth by allowing such youth to participate in
7 mock legislative hearings and floor discussions of current bills that are of interest to youth
8 during their Cooperative Y outh Conference and Leadership Experience:

10 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED that we, the members of the Missouri
11 House of Representatives, One Hundred Third General Assembly , grant the Association of
12 Missouri Electric Cooperatives permission to use the House Chamber on Thursday , July 16,
13 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to conduct a mock legislative session; and

15 BE IT FUR THER RESOL VED that the sponsor of this House Resolution,
16 Representative Rudy V eit, or his designee, shall be present in the House Chamber and shall
17 assume responsibility for the group's actions for the duration of the aforementioned event.

19 Special note: Participants in the aforementioned event shall conduct themselves in a manner
20 that preserves the dignity and honor of the House of Representatives. Such persons shall
21 behave respectfully and dress appropriately for the occasion. Food items, drinks, and
22 smoking are prohibited on the floor of the House and lower gallery , and participants shall
23 refrain from any conduct that diminishes the decorum of the House Chamber .
24 Access to the dais is limited to the Speaker's podium for purposes of using the
25 microphone to speak to those assembled. Access to the staff area behind the rostrum is
26 prohibited.
27 Group photographs; the hanging of any banners or other items on the walls, curtains,
28 or any surface within the House Chamber; and the use of any equipment, including
29 computers, phones, or other items on the dais and rostrum area, are also prohibited.
