AN ACT
To amend chapter 376, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to insurance coverage
for cancer treatments.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 376, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 376.1263, to read as 2
follows:3
376.1263. 1. As used in this section, the following 1
terms mean: 2
(1) "Advanced stage cancer", cancer that has grown 3
outside the body part in which it started, or that has 4
spread from where it started to other parts of the body; 5
(2) "Cost-sharing requirement", any deductible, 6
coinsurance, co-payment, or maximum limitation on the 7
application of such deductible, coinsurance, co-payment, or 8
similar out-of-pocket expense; 9
(3) "Health benefit plan", the same meaning as is 10
ascribed to such term in section 376.1350; 11
(4) "Health care service", the same meaning as is 12
ascribed to such term in section 376.1350. 13
2. This section shall be known and may be cited as 14
"The Missouri Advanced Stage Cancer Cost Burden Cap". 15
3. No health benefit plan shall impose any cost- 16
sharing requirement with respect to coverage for treatment 17

of advanced stage cancer, other than the deductible 18
applicable to other health care services under the health 19
benefit plan. 20
