AN ACT
To amend chapter 188, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to abortion.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 188, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 188.140, to read as 2
follows:3
188.140. 1. As used in this section, the term "pro- 1
life individual or organization", shall mean any individual 2
or any nonprofit domestic firm, partnership, association, or 3
corporation, including those which operate under the 4
standards of section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 5
1986 as amended, where the interests or purposes of such 6
individual or organization include, but shall not be limited 7
to, protecting the sanctity of life or defending the right 8
to life of all humans, born and unborn. 9
2. Any pro-life individual or organization may 10
intervene in any action in which a provision of the 11
Constitution of Missouri, any Missouri statute, or any 12
Missouri rule that involves the regulation of abortion or 13
where the rights of an unborn child is at issue. The first 14
pro-life individual or organization to file for intervention 15
shall represent the rights of the unborn child in such 16
proceeding and shall have the right to file such pleading 17
necessary on behalf of the unborn child. Any other pro-life 18

individuals or organizations may submit amicus curiae briefs 19
on their own behalf or on behalf of the unborn child. 20
