AN ACT
To amend chapter 595, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to crime victim
assistance.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 595, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 595.047, to read as 2
follows:3
595.047. 1. (1) There is hereby created in the state 1
treasury the "Missouri Crime Victims Fund", which shall 2
consist of moneys appropriated by the general assembly and 3
any gifts, contributions, grants, or other donations from 4
any public or private source. The state treasurer shall be 5
custodian of the fund. In accordance with sections 30.170 6
and 30.180, the state treasurer may approve disbursements. 7
The fund shall be a dedicated fund and, upon appropriation, 8
moneys in this fund shall be used solely as provided in this 9
section. 10
(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of section 33.080 11
to the contrary, any moneys remaining in the fund at the end 12
of the biennium shall not revert to the credit of the 13
general revenue fund. 14
(3) The state treasurer shall invest moneys in the 15
fund in the same manner as other funds are invested. Any 16

interest and moneys earned on such investments shall be 17
credited to the fund. 18
2. Moneys in the Missouri crime victims fund shall be 19
disbursed to entitlement jurisdictions, eligible entities, 20
or local governmental entities that are eligible for victim 21
assistance grants under the federal Victims of Crime Act, 22
Pub. L. 98-473, and related regulations, and such 23
jurisdictions and entities shall use such moneys for the 24
same purposes as an entitlement jurisdiction, eligible 25
entity, or local governmental entity may use victim 26
assistance grants under the federal Victims of Crime Act, 27
Pub. L. 98-473, and related regulations. 28
