AN ACT
To repeal section 8.016, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to security of
the state capitol.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 8.016, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1
section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 8.016, 2
to read as follows:3
8.016. 1. The commissioner of the office of 1
administration shall provide each member of the senate and 2
each member of the house of representatives with a key that 3
accesses the dome of the state capitol. 4
2. The commissioner of the office of administration 5
shall provide each member of the senate and each member of 6
the house of representatives with a key or key card that 7
accesses the state capitol. Upon written request by a 8
member of the senate or house of representatives, the 9
commissioner of administration shall also provide the 10
member's spouse or children with a key or key card that 11
accesses the state capitol. 12
3. The president pro tem of the senate and the speaker 13
of the house of representatives shall be responsible for 14
providing a training program for the members and staff of 15
the general assembly regarding access to secured areas of 16
the capitol building. They may consult with the office of 17

administration and department of public safety when 18
developing such program. 19
