AN ACT
To repeal section 250.234, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to
enforcement of liens for delinquent payment for sewer service.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 250.234, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1
section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 250.234, 2
to read as follows:3
250.234. Any user charges, connection fees, or other 1
charges levied by any city, town or village shall be due at 2
such time or times as specified by the governing board of 3
the city, town or village and shall, if not paid by the due 4
date, become delinquent and shall bear interest from the 5
date of delinquency until paid. If such charges become 6
delinquent they shall be a lien upon any land within the 7
corporate limits of the city, town or village so charged, 8
upon the governing board filing with the recorder of deeds 9
in the county where the land is situated a notice of 10
delinquency. The governing board shall file with the 11
recorder of deeds a similar notice when the delinquent 12
amounts, plus interest and any recording fees or attorneys' 13
fees, have been paid in full. The lien hereby created may 14
be enforced by suit [or foreclosure]. 15
