SB 1525 - This act authorizes the Department of Health and Senior Services to contract with a Missouri affiliate of a national public health association or public health institute, or a similar or successor entity, in order to assist in carrying out its duties to promote the health and well-being of Missouri residents. AN ACT
To amend chapter 192, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to public health services.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 192, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 192.021, to read as 2
follows:3
192.021. 1. The department of health and senior 1
services shall be authorized to contract directly with a 2
Missouri affiliate of a national public health association 3
or public health institute, or a similar or successor 4
entity, in order to assist in carrying out its duties to 5
promote the health and wellbeing of the residents of this 6
state. Such contracts may include, but not be limited to, 7
efforts to assist in the delivery of health services to 8
residents throughout the state and the administration of 9
grant funds and related programs. 10
2. Within sixty days after the end of each fiscal 11
year, the department and the designated affiliate shall 12
provide the general assembly with an annual report and 13
accounting of any appropriations and grant funds received 14
and expended by the designated affiliate pursuant to this 15
section during the immediate prior fiscal year and may 16
provide recommendations and suggestions for improvement in 17
services provided. 18
