AN ACT
To amend chapter 172, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to powers of the
University of Missouri board of curators.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 172, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 172.975, to read as 2
follows:3
172.975. 1. In exercising the powers granted under 1
section 172.020 and other powers granted under state law or 2
the Constitution of Missouri, the curators of the University 3
of Missouri are hereby authorized to acquire, manage, lease, 4
purchase, sell, contract for, or otherwise acquire an 5
interest in or participate in the ownership or operation of 6
hospital, medical, or other health care facilities or 7
providers, including without limitation through the 8
acquisition of entities engaged in the provision of health 9
care services or the acquisition of assets of such entities. 10
2. The curators of the University of Missouri and any 11
public or private entities or individuals with which the 12
curators collaborate shall be immunized from liability under 13
all federal and state antitrust laws, including without 14
limitation section 416.031 and any similar law, with respect 15
to the activities authorized under this section in the 16
following twenty-five counties: 17
