AN ACT
To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to frontotemporal
degeneration awareness week in Missouri.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 9.021, to read as 2
follows:3
9.021. The last full week of September each year shall 1
be known as "Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) Awareness 2
Week" in Missouri. Frontotemporal degeneration, also 3
frequently referred to as frontotemporal dementia, 4
represents a group of brain disorders caused by degeneration 5
of the frontal or temporal lobes of the brain, representing 6
the most common form of dementia for people under the age of 7
sixty. The citizens of this state are encouraged to 8
participate in appropriate events and activities that will 9
increase awareness of frontotemporal degeneration, to 10
support programs of research and education surrounding 11
frontotemporal degeneration, and to support individuals and 12
families impacted by frontotemporal degeneration. 13
