AN ACT
To repeal section 9.289 as enacted by house bill no. 1738, one hundred first general assembly,
second regular session, and section 9.289 as enacted by house bill no. 2627, one
hundred first general assembly, second regular session, and to enact in lieu thereof one
new section relating to tardive dyskinesia awareness.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 9.289 as enacted by house bill no. 1
1738, one hundred first general assembly, second regular 2
session, and section 9.289 as enacted by house bill no. 2627, 3
one hundred first general assembly, second regular session, are 4
repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be 5
known as section 9.289, to read as follows:6
[9.289. 1. The first full week in May 1
each year shall be known and designated as 2
"Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week". Tardive 3
dyskinesia is a movement disorder that is 4
characterized by random, involuntary, and 5
uncontrolled movements of different muscles in 6
the face, trunk, and extremities. The citizens 7
of this state are encouraged to observe the week 8
with appropriate events and activities to raise 9
awareness of tardive dyskinesia. 10
2. The provisions of this section shall 11
expire on August 28, 2026.] 12
9.289. [1.] The first full week of May each year 1
shall be known and designated as "Tardive Dyskinesia 2
Awareness Week". Tardive dyskinesia is a movement disorder 3
