AN ACT
To amend chapter 376, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to insurance coverage
for annual kidney function screenings.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 376, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 376.1282, to read as 2
follows:3
376.1282. 1. As used in this section, the following 1
terms shall mean: 2
(1) "Enrollee", as defined in section 376.1350; 3
(2) "Health benefit plan", as defined in section 4
376.1350; 5
(3) "Health carrier", as defined in section 376.1350. 6
2. Each health carrier or health benefit plan that 7
offers or issues health benefit plans that are delivered, 8
issued for delivery, continued, or renewed in this state on 9
or after August 28, 2026, shall provide enrollees coverage 10
for annual kidney function screening services designed to 11
identify patients at risk for chronic kidney disease. 12
Coverage for such screening services shall include, but is 13
not limited to, glomerular filtration rate testing, basic 14
metabolic panel testing, and urine testing for screening 15
albumin and creatinine levels. 16
