AN ACT
To amend chapter 168, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to school employees.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 168, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 168.780, to read as 2
follows:3
168.780. 1. Personally identifiable information of a 1
teacher collected by a public school or school district 2
shall not be sold or disclosed by any public school, school 3
district, or third-party entity to any party for any 4
commercial use, including, but not limited to, marketing or 5
solicitation; compiling, selling, or renting lists; 6
developing or enhancing products or services; or creating or 7
using individual, household, or group profiles. 8
2. If a public school or school district conducts a 9
background check on a teacher for purposes relating to such 10
teacher's work-related travel or transportation of students 11
for educational purposes, under no circumstances shall such 12
background check be reported, transmitted, or otherwise 13
treated as a credit inquiry or have any direct or indirect 14
effect on the teacher's credit score. 15
