A state senator shall not introduce more than ten bills or joint resolutions during a regular session of the General Assembly. The provisions of this act may be waived with the approval of at least two-thirds of the members of the chamber in which the person is a member. AN ACT
To amend chapter 21, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to limitations on the
number of bills introduced by members of the general assembly.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 21, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
one new section, to be known as section 21.1080, to read as 2
follows:3
21.1080. 1. No member of the house of representatives 1
shall be permitted to introduce more than five legislative 2
bills or joint resolutions during a regular session of the 3
general assembly. 4
2. No member of the senate shall be permitted to 5
introduce more than ten legislative bills or joint 6
resolutions during a regular session of the general assembly. 7
3. The provisions of this section may be waived by a 8
house of the general assembly to permit a member to 9
introduce a bill or joint resolution in excess of the limits 10
provided in subsections 1 and 2 of this section only upon 11
approval of such waiver by at least two-thirds of the 12
elected members of the house. 13
3. The provisions of this section shall not apply to 14
the introduction of an appropriation bill. 15
